Grace Omondi is a young woman under Project Africa's umbrella. She has been raised by a single mother since her father died. Today, Grace is using her interest in Drawing and writing to produce reading charts for lower primary school children. Using a Nylon sacks which she buys at the local market, Grace has transformed them to be her material instead of paper which wears out quickly.
She sits under the sun and slowly writes her charts which later she sells and earn a living.
The charts are bought by schools in her community. She desires to expand her trade by teaching four other young women, prepare a brand name and supply to schools, bookshops and other. Her Goal is to supply to the whole of Africa.

Grace needs a number of things to make is happen
  • Training Allowances

    500 Euro. • Still needed: 480 Euro • Published 19 July 2008
    Grace will train four women at the PROJECT AFRICA women's leadership Academy based in Kakamega in Western Kenya. Selected by our PROJECT staff in Kenya, the four assistants must be orphaned girls heading households aged between 16 -25
  • 10000 Nylon Sacks

    One for 0.04 Euro. • Still needed: 395 Euro • Published 18 July 2008
    This fund will be used for buying nylon sacks from the local market. Size 50X100 cm.
  • 20 painting Kits

    One for 5 Euro. • Still needed: 100 Euro • Published 18 July 2008
    This money will be used to buy 20 painting kits which will include paint pallets, brushes, board and canvas
  • Branding machine

    400 Euro. • Still needed: 400 Euro • Published 19 July 2008
    The Branding machine will be used to make a brand name of the charts on the packaging ready for sale. This is a one time buy.
  • 100 Sales promotion and Marketing Trips

    One for 5 Euro. • Still needed: 500 Euro • Published 19 July 2008
    Grace and her team of 4 assistants will use this fund to travel to various schools, book fairs, malls and other to promote their work.
