With more than 14,000 mainly local employees, CARE is active in more than 70 countries in order to overcome poverty, hunger and disease.

CARE has advisory status at the UN and helps people regardless of their political opinion, religious denomination or ethnic origin. CARE was awarded the DZI-Spendensiegel (donation seal of approval by the German Central Institute for Social Questions) for its careful use of donations.
